Ruth Puryear

Ruth Puryear is an Attorney Awaiting Admission at Shebitz Berman & Delforte, P.C. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee and pursuing admission in New York. Ruth is involved in all aspects of the firm’s practice areas, including education law-related litigation and transactional matters, as well as advisory work for a range of firm clients such as K-12 schools, colleges, and nonprofit entities.

Before joining the firm, Ruth was an Associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, where she represented clients in complex business litigation and maintained an active pro bono practice.

Ruth earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. During law school, she served on the Moot Court Board, competed on the Appellate Advocacy Team, and was a staff member of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology.

Ruth received her B.A. in Theater Studies, with Highest Honors, from Emory University, where she received the Louis B. Sudler Prize in the Arts upon graduation. She is also a graduate of St. Andrew’s School in Delaware.
